THE LONE STAR DENTAL CONFERENCE
TAPD is hosting this event with the Texas Academy of General Dentistry.
SEPTEMBER 13th-15th, 2012 in AUSTIN at the WESTIN HOTEL at the DOMAIN
The Conference includes a wealth of talented speakers on practice building techniques, internal marketing, and oral cancer. Numerous Lunch and Learn Topics are available on Friday, September 14th. Specific for Pediatric Dentistry will be a talk on MTA pulpotomies by Dr. Zheng Xu. Several social activities are planned for Thursday and Friday nights.
A PALS Recertification Class will be given on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th , from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. A current PALS and Basic Life Support card are required for the course to receive recertification. The class size is limited, so please go to www.tagd.org/LSDC to register as soon as possible.
In addition to the PALS course, an MCO FORUM featuring representatives from HHSC, MCNA, Delta Dental, and Dentiquest will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th 8:00- 11:00 am. The forum will be a question and answer session similar to TAPD’s very successful forum held last year in Austin.
The Westin Domain is in North Austin adjacent to a new shopping area featuring Neiman Marcus. Major restaurants are also located nearby.

The TAPD MCO forum was held in Austin on January 14th. There was great member attendance. We had about 175 attendees present. All three of the Dental MCO's were present as was HHSC. It was a very informational meeting and I think many questions were answered and many fears were alleviated. As more information on the Medicaid transition becomes available, we will post in the "What's New" section on our website.
